This collection is about floral prints and colour from summer to winter. It is about fitted garments to emphasize the body’s shape. It is Menswear that has a feminine slant. With influences from vintage to sportswear, classic Italian tailoring, Japanese floral prints with a subtle seventies hints. The collection references what I wear. My aim was to make simple clothing that would stand out using vibrant, opulent fabrics. The collection was heavily inspired by fabrics that are intended for woman. The designs are structured men’s clothes with femininity. I have produced a collection for spring/summer which contains short shorts. Fitted T-shirt‘s, elastic waist trouser’s.
Also I have included some winter clothing. I have produced a long single breasted jacket with a large draping collar. Also featuring a modern take on a tracksuit
I found making T- shirt’s easy both to make and cut the pattern. I used my new over locker on them which adds a professional finish to the garments. It was exciting to be able to experiment with different material. I feel I have a keen eye for how different fabrics work together.
Also making scarves turned out well. They are really quick and simple to make but using silk gives an elegant sophisticated look. However sewing the pockets into my jacket was a challenge and did not turn out as well as I expected. I felt they ruined the cut and made it look less sleek. Overall I am pleased with the finished products which I feel portray my work in a good light.

I am interested in studying fashion because I have been making and designing cloths for a 5 years now. I am completely self taught and eager to learn . I would love to learn properly how to make and design garments to a industry standard. I am always buying fashion magazines and looking up blog's keeping myself up to date with new looks and trends. To progress in my production of clothes I feel I need some formal training. I have a few other hobbies like making music and get inspiration for clothing from listening to music. I love world music generally, my favorite band is Staff Benda Bilili. My aim after finishing the course is to pursue a career in the fashion industry. My ultimate aim is to be have my own label.
